TheDegreeTracker™ was built by Harvard Extension School (HES) students for HES students.
We understand the complexity of requirements, attributes, and prerequisites for not only each
course, but entire degree programs and even certificates. What started as a complex
spreadsheet has evolved into a cloud based web application that will provide solid tracking and
flexible planning for all courses, fields, minors, etc.
We couldn't stop there. We wanted to bring multiple tools together to help each and every
student along their way to earning their degree. Course ratings are key. Not just if they are
good or bad, but many variables that will allow a student to really predetermine if this is the
right course for them. Our course ratings database grows with our subscriber base. We
encourage each and every student to rate all course previously taken, as your observations and
opinions are important to the overall student community.
We have also populated a forum/based Wiki for our community. We hope to foster intellectual
conversations and knowledge sharing about anything and all things academic, as well as school
and degree program specifics.
You may be wondering why we have decided to go subscription based. There are several
factors here. We want this tool to grow and evolve into an amazing product that will help any
and all students stay organized, focused, and connected throughout a daunting degree
experience. In order to sustain the tool and continually improve, update, and evolve we will
have to continue to invest time and resources that will be dedicated to TheDegreeTracker™.
Furthermore, it is our goal to keep "Web Trolls" away. We want our subscribers to not have to
deal with phantom posts, incorrect information, random course ratings, etc.
Another important item to note is we hope this tool allows for stronger discussion between
students and advisors of any program. Our tool is not designed to separate the need for an
advisor of any kind. It is our goal that by having a means to further track and plan your courses
and requirements each student will be better prepared for such meetings.
We hope that everyone enjoys TheDegreeTracker™ and finds it as useful as we do. Your
support and feedback is critical to the success and evolution of this product. Please direct
feedback to: firstname.lastname@example.org
We greatly appreciate your subscription to TheDegreeTracker™. If you would like to support the team and our endeavors to provide this helpful tool to students, we would greatly appreciate your consideration of a donation below.
